Terms of Service

Last updated: April 5, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Junk Mail Cleaner browser extension for Google Chrome (the “Extension”). By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension.

The Extension is provided for general productivity purposes. These Terms are not legal advice. You are responsible for complying with laws and rules that apply to you, including your employer’s or school’s policies if you use Gmail on their behalf.

2. The service #

Junk Mail Cleaner is a Chrome extension that connects to your Gmail account (after you consent) and helps you work through unread inbox mail: it groups unread messages by sender (“Groups”), lets you open a list of subjects and snippets per sender (“Emails”), search those lists on your device, see summary counts and last-updated information, refresh the list (including faster incremental updates when possible), select senders or individual messages in bulk, mark them as read or move them to Trash, and undo some actions when the Extension offers an undo control. You can also open a message in Gmail in a normal browser tab. All Gmail access uses Google’s official APIs from your browser; the publisher does not operate a server that receives or stores your Gmail data for the Extension (see the Privacy Policy). Features, limits, and wording may change with updates published through the Chrome Web Store.

The project may also host a simple marketing website (static pages). That site may embed third-party content such as a YouTube demo player; use of the website and embedded players is also subject to those third parties’ terms and policies, as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Privacy #

How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of your agreement with us. The Privacy Policy explains that Gmail data is not sent to or stored on publisher-operated servers, how Gmail access and OAuth work, local caching and UI state in the Extension, what the static marketing site does, and how embedded content such as YouTube may process data.

4. Google accounts and Gmail #

The Extension works with your Google account and Gmail only when you sign in and grant the permissions requested. You must comply with Google’s Terms of Service, Google’s Privacy Policy, and applicable Gmail and API terms. We do not provide Gmail; Google does.

5. Acceptable use #

You agree not to:

6. Disclaimers #

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE EXTENSION WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF LOSS OF DATA. ACTIONS YOU TAKE IN GMAIL (SUCH AS DELETING OR MOVING MAIL) ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

7. Limitation of liability #

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER AND CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE EXTENSION WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE EXTENSION IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR, IF THE EXTENSION IS FREE, FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (USD $5)). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

8. Changes #

We may update these Terms or the Extension. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through the Chrome Web Store listing or release notes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Termination #

You may stop using the Extension at any time by removing it from Chrome. We may discontinue or limit the Extension in accordance with store policies or law.

10. Contact #

For questions about these Terms, use the contact or support channel shown on the Extension’s Chrome Web Store listing (publisher email or support link, if provided).
